One of my Favourite Celebrity Cook

1 Rabiulakhir 1430H

My lil' garden

1 Rabiulakhir 1430H

Apart from baking cakes and pastries, my other hobby is gardening. Even though I have a very limited space in my apartment, but I manage to make a small corner at the balcony for planting. And also a small koi pond which I keep an ikan puyu. The other corner of the balcony has already taken for drying up cloths.
To be honest, I’m that good of taking care of plants, unlike my late Apak who always like to plant many types of flower and also having made a quite area of land at the back of our kampong house to plant banana.
I remember very clearly how he always at the ‘laman’ to care for his orchard which had flowered abundantly.
I’ve tried many times to take care of flower plant that I bought from nursery. But most of the time after few weeks or if it is lucky enough after a couple of month, it died. Even my kids have criticized me of not knowing how to take care of the plant but still buying a new one!
Up to now, after several attempts; I manage to keep some of the plant healthy and some growing bigger than when I first bought it. I also manage to grow some pandan leaves which I took from Mak Nyah P.J’s house, daun kunyit and cekur from my mom in law’s house and which later I plant myself daun kunyit from the kunyit hidup. However, there is one pokok cili which I use the seed from leftover used for cooking is never breed. Only the leaves are growing very healthy......

Anak dara ku nyebok jugak nak masuk gambo....

Hot Air Ballon at Putrajaya

1 Rabiulakhir 1430H

Actually in the recent school break, we had no plan of taking the kids anywhere. Thinking that the school break was only for a week, so just let them stayed at home and enjoyed watching tv. Until nearly the end of the week when my neighbour and also the mother to my son's best friend (Hazim) told me that there was a hot air balloon show at Putrajaya.

Without further due, told Mr. Huby that it would be good if all of us went there as well. Not planning to ride on the balloon since the kids are not that adventurous, as we arrived there on the Saturday morning at almost 7.30 the ticket to ride the balloon for the day was already sold out! Well...no worries...
We just went lingering there watching as the balloons and the passengers went up to the air.

Just enough I thought...for the kids to have an ‘outbreak’ during the school break!

Pembelajaran Sains dan Matematik dalam Bahasa Inggeris

I always agree to the teaching of Math and Science in English. And never understand why it is kept on being debating to withdraw it. It might be due to my own experience on how I've to struggle during my university days, to learn the subjects in English. On top of that I neither have an English spoken family background nor speak English all the time during school days. Likewise some of my university friends who were schooling at convent school or any other school that emphasised English at all time.

As a mother, I don’t want my children to undergone what I’ve been through.
As a was struggling to use English to learn engineering in University, I’m also still struggling to speak English with my children in our everyday conversation hoping that they could be a lot more better in their education as compared to myself.
This article from ‘Che Det’ makes it a good point on how important English is............
